IPL Photofacial
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a laser light treatment that targets pigment issues. These can include:
- Pigment Imperfections
- Freckles
- Brown and Red Spots
- Sun Damage
- Spider Veins
- Redness
- Rosacea
Pulsed light draws out pigment producing cells and disperses them, smoothing color and creating a more uniform complexion. This makes it a good treatment for a number of issues. And IPL isn’t just for the face. It can also be used for the neck, chest, shoulders, arms and legs.
The light energy pulls discolored spots to the surface of the skin, where they eventually flake off, leaving healthy, radiant skin underneath.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is IPL Right For Me?
IPL may be a good choice for you if you have a lighter complexion and want to get rid of spots or small visible veins. If you’re tanned or have darker skin, it may not be right, because it affects pigment and could discolor darker tones.
During our Free Consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and go over your goals for skin improvement. We’ll explain the treatment in detail and discuss possible outcomes. Then you’ll be able to decide for yourself if IPL is the right solution for you.
What Should I Expect With The Treatment?
The treatment beings with our aesthetician thoroughly cleaning your skin in the area to be treated, and applying a cool gel to enhance the impact of the light pulses. Then the laser is placed on the treatment area, and slowly moved in a pattern. During the treatment, you may feel a little discomfort, but most people tolerate it without trouble. The technician may go over the area several times, depending on need. The light is very bright, so depending on the area being treated, you may need eye protection. The treatment takes about 45 minutes on average.
Several treatments, about four weeks apart, may be needed for optimum results.
What Are The Results?
You’ll see the results over time, as the pigmented skin works its way to the surface and falls off. The best results can usually be seen about three months after the last treatment. After the treatment, you will need sun protection and a good skin care regime to maintain results. Overexposure to the sun can bring back the problem spots. For optimum results, treatments may need to be repeated periodically.
There may be some initial redness or puffiness, but it will dissipate quickly. You can apply makeup immediately.
